Obverse description A large grain sprig arcs gracefully from the lower field to the upper right, its stalk and ear of wheat rendered in fine relief against a plain field. To the left, the Arabic-script legend 'Türkiye Cumhuriyeti' (Republic of Turkey) is inscribed in an elaborate calligraphic tughra-style composition. The four-digit Arabic-numeral date appears below the inscription. The coin border is defined by a raised inner ring of fine beading.

Reverse description A large oak or acanthus sprig occupies the right portion of the field, its detailed leaves rendered in high relief. To the upper centre, the Turkish crescent and five-pointed star device is prominently displayed. The denomination numeral '٥' (5) is placed in large format to the left of the sprig, with the Arabic-script word 'Guruş' (Kuruş) inscribed below it. The coin border is defined by a raised inner ring of fine beading.
