正面描述 Intaglio-printed portrait of King Gustaf VI Adolf within an oval vignette framed by laurel branches at centre-right, the king shown in three-quarter view wearing military dress with decorations. The bank title SVERIGES RIKSBANK appears at top, with the year in red at upper right and the denomination FEM KRONOR on a ribbon cartouche below the portrait. Two guilloche rosettes bearing the numeral 5 are placed at upper left and lower right, with two facsimile signatures of bank officials below the central vignette.

备注

The P#42 series replaced the earlier, larger-format 5 Kronor notes as part of Sweden's postwar shift toward more economical paper dimensions. Sveriges Riksbank had maintained oversized notes well into the 1940s, partly by institutional inertia and partly because Swedish public opinion associated larger paper with greater credibility — a bias the bank had quietly tracked through its own circulation studies.

Watermarking on this series was handled with particular care; counterfeit 5 Kronor notes had caused localized problems in southern Sweden during the late 1940s, and the revised watermark pattern introduced here was a direct response.
