Obverse description At the upper field, the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine (trident) is flanked by the semicircular legend УКРАЇНА to its right; a circular band in mirror finish displays all twelve symbols of the Eastern zodiac calendar, enclosing a central stylized clock face with a single hand pointing to the snake symbol and the date 2025 above the hand. The denomination 5 ГРИВЕНЬ appears in a semicircular legend at the lower left of the inner circle. Surrounding the zodiac circle on a matte ground are four seasonal motifs rendered in the style of Ukrainian paper-cut folk art (vytynanka): a snowflake at the top, a flower at the right, a berry cluster at the bottom, and a leaf at the left. The mintmark of the National Bank of Ukraine Banknote Printing and Minting Works is positioned to the right above the tiger zodiac symbol.

Reverse description The central field depicts two coiled snakes intertwined in a symmetrical composition, their heads raised and facing each other at the top, rendered in high relief with detailed scale texturing against a matte background. The serpents' bodies form an elegant knot at the lower center, with their tails tapering to a fine point below. Surrounding the snakes are decorative folk-art motifs in the Ukrainian vytynanka paper-cut style: a bare oak branch with acorns at the upper left, two snowflakes at the upper right, floral and plant elements along the lower arc, and stylized geometric ornaments at the lower left and right, all set within a plain raised rim.
