| 表面の説明 | The obverse features a highly detailed sculptural depiction of a Trojan horse constructed from interwoven wooden elements, shown in left profile and mounted on a rectangular plinth, occupying the lower and central field. To the upper left, a circular medallion bears the emblem of the Security Service of Ukraine — a Maltese cross with a central tryzub (trident), surrounded by a wreath — with the legends СЛУЖБА БЕЗПЕКИ УКРАЇНИ and ЗАХИЩАЄМО УКРАЇНУ РАЗОМ inscribed around its circumference. At upper centre, the small Ukrainian coat of arms (tryzub) is struck above the country name УКРАЇНА and the date 2025, with the denomination 5₴ below. A small mint mark appears in the central field beneath the denomination. Issued by the National Bank of Ukraine to mark the 35th anniversary of the Security Service of Ukraine — the SBU, established in 1991 as the successor to the Ukrainian KGB — this coin appeared while the SBU itself was actively engaged in wartime counterintelligence operations following Russia's full-scale invasion of February 2022. The institution had spent the years between independence and 2022 in contested transformation, with successive governments accused of failing to fully de-Sovietize its personnel and methods.
The 2022 invasion dramatically redefined the SBU's public profile and operational mandate, lending a piece like this an urgency that most institutional commemoratives never carry.
