Issued by the National Bank of Ukraine to mark the 35th anniversary of the Security Service of Ukraine — the SBU, established in 1991 as the successor to the Ukrainian KGB — this coin appeared while the SBU itself was actively engaged in wartime counterintelligence operations following Russia's full-scale invasion of February 2022.
