The surface treatment employs a pronounced gold-coloured iris finishing technique that evokes the luminous, mosaic-like quality of Klimt's original oil-on-canvas masterwork. The rectangular format of the coin serves to frame the artwork as a miniature panel, emphasising its painterly character.
