Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II's accession, this coin belongs to a wave of commemorative releases coordinated across Commonwealth realms and territories in 2002. The Solomon Islands, as a Commonwealth nation with Elizabeth II as head of state, participated in several such issues that year. The Orb referenced in the title — the Sovereign's Orb — was last used at the 1953 Coronation and is held only briefly during the ceremony itself before being returned to the altar at Westminster Abbey.
