| 正面描述 | Central field features the Tunisian coat of arms — a shield bearing a sailing ship above a balance of scales and a lion passant, flanked by decorative floral and chain ornaments on either side. Above the shield, the national emblem of a crescent and star is displayed prominently. The Arabic legend reading 'الجمهورية التونسية' (The Tunisian Republic) curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination 'خمسة 5 دنانير' (Five 5 Dinars) is inscribed along the lower border. The design is executed in high relief against a mirror-proof field. |

Tunisia's 1987 "coup médical" — in which Zine El Abidine Ben Ali had Bourguiba declared medically unfit and assumed the presidency without a single shot fired on the night of November 7th — was subsequently institutionalized as a national holiday called "Changement Day." This commemorative marks the 15th anniversary of that transition, issued in the year Ben Ali's grip on the country was near its apex, more than a decade before the 2011 revolution forced him into Saudi exile.
The Arabic-legend variant exists alongside a French-legend counterpart for the same issue, a standard Tunisian practice for commemorative gold of this period.
