5 Chiao / 50 Cents Bank of Central China

The Bank of Central China was a Communist-administered institution operating in the Liberated Areas during the final phase of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Notes from this bank circulated in regions where Nationalist currency was either unavailable or actively rejected, functioning as a parallel monetary system in territory the CCP was consolidating ahead of the postwar civil conflict with the Kuomintang.
