| Beschrijving voorzijde | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, modeled by Percy Metcalfe, occupies the central field. The King wears the Imperial State Crown rendered in fine detail, with fleurs-de-lis and arched bands clearly delineated. The engraver's initials 'PM' appear in small letters below the truncation of the bust. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIUS VI DEI GRA. REX ET IND. IMP., disposed along the full circumference of the coin within a beaded border. |

Note that the diameter of 15.69 mm applies to the 1938 issue only; from 1940 to 1943 the diameter was slightly reduced to 15.49 mm. |
