Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by a ship's wheel and a palm tree crest. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto legend TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE. The country name TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, the mint mark appears below the scroll, and the date is inscribed in the lower exergue. |

The design occupies nearly the full flan, with a plain raised rim encircling the composition. |
