| Beschrijving voorzijde | The national coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided by a chevron and charged with three sailing ships, supported on the dexter by a Scarlet Ibis and on the sinister by a Cocrico, both standing on a grassy mound. Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by a ship's wheel and a palm tree crest. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto legend TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE. The country name TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, the mint mark appears below the scroll, and the date is inscribed in the lower exergue. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A finely detailed effigy of the Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber), the national bird of Trinidad and Tobago, is depicted perched on a branch facing right with wings partially raised and its elongated decorative plumage sweeping dramatically to the left across the field. The numeral 5 appears in large raised characters to the right of the bird, with the denomination legend CENTS inscribed in a bold arc along the lower portion of the field. The design occupies nearly the full flan, with a plain raised rim encircling the composition. |
