The inscription reads the royal title and name of the sultan, with letterforms showing the heavily stylized, compressed character common to small-denomination hammered issues of the Delhi Sultanate. The flan edge is irregular and ragged, a natural consequence of the hand-cutting and hammering process. No border or decorative device is present, the legend filling the field to its margins. Surface patination is consistent with aged billon, displaying a silvery-gray tone with areas of oxidation.
