The figures are rendered in a simplified but expressive hammered style typical of late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century Italian minor coinage. A circular Latin legend in the outer border identifies the denomination, reading MONE DA QVATRI TRENTA, meaning 'coin of thirty quattrinos', separated by pellet stops. |
