The cartouche is adorned with decorative scrollwork and a small heart-shaped ornament at the apex, all contained within a beaded inner circle and a milled outer border. The layout is characteristic of small German copper pfennig coinage of the eighteenth century, with the denomination and date presented as the sole reverse device. |
