Obverse description The Italian Kingdom coat of arms, supported by two heraldic lions, occupies the upper centre, flanked by encircled denomination numerals "250" at upper left and right. A central cartouche carries the legal text, bordered below by two reclining allegorical female figures: Industry at left, holding a gear and a work tool with a stylized cornucopia at her feet, and Agriculture at right, holding a sickle and a wheat sheaf with a caduceus of Asclepius at her feet. Rhomboid medallions at each corner bear the head of Mercury (Hermes) at upper left and lower right, and the head of Bacchus (Dionysus) at upper right and lower left, while at centre left and right small cherubs each raise an eagle; an orange guilloche underprint with the denomination "250" overlays the text field, and a vertical matrix border at left repeats "Regno d'Italia" and "250 Lire" in dark green intaglio, with the entire composition rendered in dark green and dark grey.

The four cardinal points each carry the numeral "250" set against a radiating wave guilloche background in dark green, while series and serial numbers appear at the four corners, each framed by an orange underprint panel with the numeral "250". Orange ribbon ornaments link all major design elements, each repeating the denomination, and a decorative matrix border at right carries repeated inscriptions "250" and "DUECENTOCINQUANTA" in dark green intaglio.
