The "Golden Girls" denomination is one of the more unusual entries in Bahamian numismatic history — a $250 face value on a one-ounce gold coin issued at a time when the Bahamian dollar was pegged 1:1 to the USD, making the nominal value a fraction of the metal's spot price even at 2000 gold prices.
