| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is dominated by the large decorative Fraktur title 'Notgeld der Stadt Neustadt an der Orla' across the upper portion, with the denomination '25 Pfennig' in a yellow vignette at upper left. The central field carries patriotic letterpress text urging purchase of German goods, flanked below by two circular guild seals — the tanner's (Gerber) to the left and the cloth-maker's (Tuchmacher) to the right — with the city arms in full colour between them, depicting a fortified gateway above a quartered heraldic shield. A facsimile signature of the Bürgermeister appears to the right, and the printer's imprint 'Druck: Johannes Arndt, Jena' runs along the lower margin. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a finely engraved vignette of the Rathaus (town hall) of Neustadt an der Orla, viewed through a tall Gothic archway that frames the composition on three sides in deep teal and black. The Gothic tower and ornate Renaissance stairway portal of the building are rendered in warm ochre and brown tones with fine crosshatching. Denomination shields in yellow and orange bearing '25 Pfg.' appear at the upper left and upper right corners, and the inscription 'Rathaus zu Neustadt a/d Orla' is set in Fraktur along the lower border, with the printer's imprint below the design. |
