| Obverse description | Central field features the elaborate tuğra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mehmed V, rendered in fine relief and surrounded by an ornate arabesque border of scrolling floral and foliate motifs occupying the full coin perimeter. The regnal year '8' (سنة ٨) appears below the tuğra, denoting the eighth year of his reign. The intricate vegetal frame is characteristic of late Ottoman imperial coinage style. A small hole is pierced near the top of the coin, indicating former use as a pendant or ornament. |
