| 背面描述 | Stylized elements of the Brazilian national emblem occupy the central field, featuring diagonal stripes and a starry globe rendered in a modern, geometric design. The denomination 25 CENTAVOS is inscribed above, and the year of issue appears to the lower left. The overall composition is bold and graphic, characteristic of the Real series coin design. |

Deodoro da Fonseca proclaimed Brazilian independence from the Portuguese monarchy on November 15, 1889 — though historians have long debated whether it was a genuine republican conviction or a response to the abolition of slavery the previous year, which had cost the military its landowner support base. He served as the republic's first president but resigned after less than two years, having dissolved Congress and faced near-immediate impeachment threats.
The bronze-plated steel composition replaced a prior stainless steel version as Brazil worked to reduce minting costs following chronic inflationary pressure through the 1990s.
