| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and armored bust of Duke Charles I facing right, with flowing curled wig, occupying the central field. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the German Baroque tradition, with fine detailing on the lace cravat and shoulder armor. The circular legend reads CAROLVS D•G• DVX BR•ET LVN around the periphery, interrupted by the bust. A mintmaster initial M appears in the lower field beneath the truncation.
