The motto NVNQVAM RETRORSVM arcs along the upper legend, accompanied by the date 1746 to the right. The denomination 2½ THALER is inscribed in the lower exergual area, with the mintmaster's initials EK flanking the date in the upper field. The overall composition is bold and well-centered, consistent with the high-quality gold coinage of the Clausthal Mint. |
