Popis líce	Red-brown on light tan underprint with an intricate guilloche lattice pattern covering the entire field. The title ZILVERBON is printed in large bold letterpress across the upper centre, with SURINAME at the top and the denomination 2.50 in large numerals at centre, repeated in the four corners. Two manuscript signatures appear below the date line of 12 April 1918, attributed to the Acting Administrator of Finance and the Governor of Suriname, with the legend WETTIG BETAALMIDDEL at foot.

Poznámky	The "zilverbonnen" — silver vouchers — were issued by De Surinaamsche Bank as a direct response to the near-total disappearance of silver coin from circulation during the First World War. Hoarding and export drained the colony's specie, and paper substitutes denominated in silver value were the practical fix. The 2½ gulden denomination was a deliberate match to the existing silver coin of the same value, which helped public acceptance in a market deeply resistant to paper. Enschedé had printed for the Surinaamsche Bank since the nineteenth century, and their Haarlem facility provided the watermarked stock.
