| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in red-brown and teal on a cream ground, with an elaborate border of interlaced geometric and folk-ornament guilloche work enclosing the entire field. A large central oval medallion carries the Ukrainian trident emblem set within layered rosette underprint, flanked by the numeral 2000 repeated on either side in bold type. The denomination in words, ДВІ ТИСЯЧІ ГРИВЕНЬ, appears across the lower centre in large letterpress, while cursive script reading Державний Кредитовий Білет occupies the mid-field, and the date РОКУ 1918 is set within a cartouche at the foot beneath the signature lines for the Director of the State Bank and the Treasurer. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in deep carmine-rose on a pale buff ground, dominated by large bold numerals 2000 and the word ГРИВЕНЬ in ornate letterpress occupying the upper two-thirds of the field. A wide decorative border of Ukrainian folk-style interlace guilloche frames the note, with octagonal corner medallions bearing the value 2000. The lower register contains two square underprint panels each inscribed 2000 ГРИВЕНЬ flanking a central text block with legal tender and anti-counterfeiting declarations, beneath which a final line states the gold content of one hryvnia; serial numbers are printed vertically in red along both side margins. |
