Obverse description The obverse presents the final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as depicted at age 77, rendered in selective platinum plating against the gold field, facing right in profile with bare head, wearing a necklace and earrings. The portrait, attributed to engraver Susanna Blunt, is accompanied by a commemorative double-date mark reading '1952' and '2022' separated by four pearls, symbolising the four distinct royal effigies that appeared on Canadian coinage throughout Her Majesty's reign. The outer legend bears the royal titulature in Latin, with the denomination '200 DOLLARS' incorporated into the inscriptions. The selective platinum plating imparts a striking two-tone contrast to the portrait and decorative elements against the warm gold ground.
