目录
| 正面描述 | The Montenegrin royal coat of arms dominates the field, depicting a double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread, each head facing outward, surmounted by a large imperial crown topped with a Latin cross. The eagle's dexter talon clasps a sword and the sinister talon holds an orb and cross, while a central escutcheon on the breast bears a lion passant. The word ESSAI appears incuse in the right field, identifying this piece as a trial strike. The design is enclosed by a fine beaded border. |

Montenegro ceased to exist as an independent state in January 1916 when Austrian forces completed their occupation of the kingdom. This 1915 trial strike was produced as the government was actively preparing a new coinage series — work that the invasion rendered permanently moot. No regular-issue 20 Para in nickel ever entered circulation.
Pattern and trial pieces from this aborted series are known in vanishingly small numbers, most traceable to the royal administration's flight rather than any organized distribution.
