Obverse description Right-facing bare-headed portrait bust of Frederick August III, King of Saxony, rendered in high relief with finely detailed facial features and cropped military collar. The legend FRIEDRICH AUGUST KÖNIG V. SACHSEN arcs around the periphery, separated from the bust by a beaded inner border. The effigy is modelled in a formal, naturalistic style characteristic of German imperial-era coinage.
