背面描述 The reverse is printed in dark blue ink on cream paper with a decorative outer border. The denomination '20 Zwanzig Heller 20' is inscribed across the top panel in Gothic script with numerals at each side. The central composition is divided into two architectural vignettes of Piberstein castle courtyard, with arcaded loggias and stone archways, flanking a central text panel in Gothic script that reaffirms the redemption guarantee by the municipality of Helfenberg, dated 'am 1. Mai 1920', with the Bürgermeister's facsimile signature. The caption 'PIBERSTEIN' appears beneath each vignette.

备注

Helfenberg is a small municipality in Upper Austria, and this 20 Heller note is a product of the postwar Notgeld wave that swept through German-speaking Austria and Germany between roughly 1919 and 1922. The Austrian krone had collapsed in purchasing power following the dissolution of the Habsburg empire, and small coin virtually vanished from circulation as hoarding took hold. Municipalities, merchants, and private businesses stepped in to fill the gap with locally issued emergency paper — thousands of distinct types, most in small denominations like this.

Upper Austrian Notgeld pieces from village-level issuers are among the more ephemeral of the type; print runs were modest and redemption periods short.
