Obverse description The obverse features the national arms of Palau at centre, depicting a shield with a traditional scene of a figure holding a trident accompanied by a mermaid amid waves, surmounted by a traditional canoe, all encircled by six stars. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs above the arms, with the issuer name RAINBOW'S END inscribed below the shield. The denomination 20$ appears beneath the central device, and the date 2021 is inscribed at the lower rim. The entire central composition is surrounded by a deeply struck, intricately detailed labyrinth pattern filling the broad border, with the legend THESEUS AND THE MINOTAUR incused within the maze along the upper arc. The coin is struck in antiqued finish, lending a dramatic dark patina to the recessed areas of the labyrinth.

Reverse description The reverse presents a dramatic high-relief sculptural composition depicting the confrontation between the hero Theseus and the Minotaur within the Labyrinth of Crete. To the left, Theseus is rendered in profile facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet with flowing locks visible beneath; his draped shoulder and the hilt of a weapon are discernible at the lower field. To the right, the monstrous Minotaur looms in powerful three-quarter view, its bull head rendered with fierce detail including flaring nostrils, open jaws, and a wild mane, its muscular arm clutching a pointed weapon. The background field is engraved with spiralling labyrinthine passages, evoking the mythological setting, while a Greek meander border frames the composition at the rim. The antiqued silver finish enhances the dramatic contrast between the raised figural elements and the darkened recessed field.
