Pietro Annigoni's involvement is the unusual element here. The Florentine painter — best known for his 1955 portrait of Elizabeth II commissioned by the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers — provided the royal likeness that De La Rue adapted for several Commonwealth note series during this period.
