Surrounding the leaf, a finely engraved radial pulsating pattern evokes the canopy of a vast Canadian forest, creating an optical illusion of depth and movement — tall conifers appearing to emerge and recede when the coin is tilted, simulating the experience of a misty forest interior. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper field, while the purity and metal inscriptions are distributed along the lower portion of the reverse. The overall composition is known as the Silver Maple Leaf bullion design rendered in a commemorative ultra-high relief format. |
