Obverse description Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in ultra-high relief after the portrait by sculptor Steven Rosati, depicting the King at approximately 74 years of age with naturalistic detail in the hair and facial features. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the upper field, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS and the date 2024 curve along the lower field. The engraver's initials SR appear discreetly on the truncation of the bust. The field is lightly textured, providing contrast to the sharply struck portrait. No crown or regalia is depicted, consistent with the standard effigy adopted for Canadian coinage under Charles III.

Reverse description Central design features a single raised sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum) struck in ultra-high relief and positioned at the centre of the field. Surrounding the leaf, a finely engraved radial pulsating pattern evokes the canopy of a vast Canadian forest, creating an optical illusion of depth and movement — tall conifers appearing to emerge and recede when the coin is tilted, simulating the experience of a misty forest interior. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper field, while the purity and metal inscriptions are distributed along the lower portion of the reverse. The overall composition is known as the Silver Maple Leaf bullion design rendered in a commemorative ultra-high relief format.
