To the right, an intaglio portrait of Pantaleon Dalence is set within a fine engine-turned border. The issuer's title BANCO CENTRAL DE BOLIVIA runs along the top margin, with the serial number and two facsimile signatures of bank officials appearing below the central vignette.

Popis rubu	The reverse is rendered in deep red-brown tones over a pale guilloche underprint. The central vignette presents a detailed architectural engraving of the Casa Dorada in Tarija, a grand neoclassical building with an elaborate facade. The issuer's title BANCO CENTRAL DE BOLIVIA is inscribed at the top, the denomination VEINTE BOLIVIANOS appears in a solid panel at the bottom, and the numeral 20 is repeated at upper right and lower left within ornamental rosettes.
