Two large lattice-boom cranes are depicted in the upper field, crossed symmetrically above the cogwheel and connected by a chain at the base, all selectively gold-plated against a dark proof field. The denomination VEINTE BALBOAS is inscribed along the upper arc in bold letters, while the legend 1907 CONSTRUCCIÓN DEL CANAL DE PANAMÁ curves along the lower periphery. The composition commemorates the American-era construction of the Panama Canal, referencing the year 1907 when major excavation works were underway. |
