| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Panama is displayed prominently in the center of the field, rendered in fine detail with a bald eagle surmounting the quartered shield, flanked by national flags and cornucopias. A row of nine stars arcs above the coat of arms, separating it from the outer gold-plated border. The legend REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ curves along the upper periphery, while the date 2016 appears in the lower exergue. The motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO is inscribed on the ribbon across the shield.
