The peripheral legend reads IOHAN: GEORG. ET. AVGVST: FRAT. ET. DVCES. SAXON+., identifying the two brothers as Dukes of Saxony. The overall composition reflects the dynastic display characteristic of large Saxon multiple-thaler coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
