Obverse description Plain card stock bearing printed text in letterpress, issued under the authority of the Civil Commissioner, Bulawayo. The text instructs that cash payment of the face value of the stamp affixed thereto be made to the bearer upon presentation on or after 1st August 1900, with a final redemption deadline of 1st October 1900. A handwritten signature of Marshall Hole appears across the centre, accompanied by an oval administrative ink stamp and the designation 'Secretary' at lower right; the printer's imprint 'Chronicle Printing Works, Bulawayo' appears at the lower left margin.

Reverse description The reverse serves as the bearer face of this emergency card money, with a British South Africa Company revenue stamp affixed centrally to the plain card stock. The stamp, denominated 2/6 (Half a Crown), bears the arms of the British South Africa Company supported by a lion and an antelope, with the inscriptions 'JUSTICE FREEDOM COMMERCE' and 'INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER', surrounded by a perforated border in a brown and olive colour scheme.
