The circular legend BANCO Y CASA DE MONEDA . BUENOS AYRES . runs along the periphery, separated by small dot stops, with the text reading continuously around the coin. The wreath is rendered in high relief with finely detailed foliage. Depending on the variety, a small rosette ornament may appear at the apex of the wreath. The overall design is typographically austere, with no figural imagery, reflecting the utilitarian character of provincial Argentine copper coinage. |
