The "Prova" designation marks this as a pattern strike — produced for approval rather than circulation. Albania's 1935 coinage program was overseen under the tight financial grip of Zog I's Italian-backed administration, and pattern pieces from this series were submitted to Rome as much as to Tirana. Most Prova survivors trace back to Italian state or mint archives rather than Albanian collections.
