One of hundreds of locally issued emergency notes — "moneda local" — produced across Republican-controlled Catalonia during the Civil War, after the anarchist-led collectivization movement severed normal commercial supply chains and the central government's coinage effectively vanished from circulation. That this note bears a joint CNT-UGT attribution is worth noting: the two unions were ideological rivals, anarcho-syndicalist and socialist respectively, and their local cooperation under a single Federació de Col·lectivitats was a practical necessity rather than a political harmony.

Printed by Gràfiques J. Nolla in the same town that issued it — an uncommon instance of purely local production with no outside contractor involved.
