The top position bears a mint authority mark identifying the 禁衛營 (Geumwiyeong), the Court Guard Military Unit. The right position carries a crescent symbol. The bottom position bears the series character 暑 (Hwang), drawn from the Thousand Character Classic (千字文), used to denote the emission series. The reverse layout follows the standard Joseon cash coin convention of combining mint identifier, series character, and auxiliary symbols to distinguish individual emission batches. |
