Commenti	Notgeld from the Bohemian city of Aussig, issued in the chaotic final weeks of the Habsburg collapse. When the Austro-Hungarian monetary system fell apart in late 1918, municipalities across the Sudetenland scrambled to produce emergency currency locally — Stadtgemeinde Aussig turned to Alois Holub, a printer operating within the city itself, rather than waiting for any central authority that no longer functionally existed. Aussig sat at a volatile intersection: a predominantly German-speaking industrial city that would soon fall under Czechoslovak jurisdiction, a transition its population largely opposed. The note predates that political resolution by weeks.
