Obverse description Quartered shield of arms set within a beaded inner circle, the quarters displaying the arms of the Bishopric of Chur: a rampant ibex (upper left), a rampant lion (upper right), horizontal bars (lower left), and a heraldic eagle (lower right). The shield is rendered in a Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered coinage. The circumscribed legend reads in Gothic uncial lettering around the periphery, separated by dots and arranged within a beaded border.
