A prominent five-pointed star is incused in the lower field, referencing his partisan legacy. Franc Rozman-Stane was a commander in the Yugoslav Partisans whose wartime record was remarkable enough that Tito personally promoted him to the rank of general in 1943 — one of the first such appointments in the National Liberation Army. He died the same year, killed when his vehicle struck a mine near Turjak. Slovenia commemorated the centenary of his birth with this issue.
