| Obverse description | The inner disc features a left-facing bust of Franc Rozman-Stane, the Slovenian World War II National Liberation Army commander, rendered in a bold, modernist relief style by engraver Edi Berk. A prominent five-pointed star is incused in the lower field, referencing his partisan legacy. To the right of the portrait, the legend reads FRANC ROZMAN STANE in vertical arrangement, flanked by the birth and death years 1911 and 1944. The country name SLOVENIJA appears in large letters across the lower centre field, with the commemorative year 2011 inscribed vertically at the lower right. The outer ring carries the customary twelve stars of the European Union. |

Franc Rozman-Stane was a commander in the Yugoslav Partisans whose wartime record was remarkable enough that Tito personally promoted him to the rank of general in 1943 — one of the first such appointments in the National Liberation Army. He died the same year, killed when his vehicle struck a mine near Turjak. Slovenia commemorated the centenary of his birth with this issue.
