The textured background simulates a fossil-bearing sedimentary rock surface, and the outer border is populated in relief with additional prehistoric marine fossil specimens including ammonites, echinoids, and bivalves, all finished in dark ruthenium. The series title EVOLUTION OF EARTH arcs along the upper periphery, and the subject inscription NUMMULITES appears along the lower right, both in Latin script. |
