| Descrizione del rovescio | The entire rectangular field is occupied by an elaborately engraved design in the traditional Russian Khokhloma folk-art style, rendered in high relief against a polished background. A large stylised bird in flight is depicted amid densely interlacing floral and foliate scrollwork, including bold multi-petalled blossoms, buds, berries, and curling stems. A butterfly hovers near the upper right corner, adding further decorative complexity to the composition. The design faithfully reproduces the characteristic graphic vocabulary of Khokhloma painted woodwork, with deeply cut contours creating strong tonal contrast. There are no legends or inscriptions on the reverse. |
