| Obverse description | Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (Kaishu) disposed clockwise in the four cardinal positions of the field, reading 淳熙通寶 (Chunxi Tongbao). A plain raised inner rim frames the central aperture, and a similarly raised outer rim borders the coin's circumference. The calligraphy is bold and clearly articulated, consistent with Southern Song dynasty casting conventions. The flat field shows typical iron casting texture with no additional decorative elements. |
