Reverse description Four lines of bold Roman capital lettering — DVE / CARLINI / ROMANI / 1777 — filling the central field and denoting the denomination and date. The inscription is enclosed within an ornate wreath-like cartouche of acanthus and laurel scrollwork, with a small decorative escutcheon at the base and foliate ornaments at the apex. A small five-pointed star mint mark appears below the date at the bottom of the cartouche. The whole is contained within a beaded border.
