| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays densely arranged Arabic calligraphic inscriptions in the nasta'liq script filling the entire field, executed in the characteristic hammered style of Zand-period coinage. The central legend reads 'Ya Karim' (O Generous One), an invocation of Karim Khan's name and title. Below the central inscription appears the mint name 'Dar al-'Ilm Shiraz' (Abode of Knowledge, Shiraz) accompanied by the regnal year 1183 AH. The design is framed by a stylized floral or foliate border running along the coin's periphery, typical of Zand Dynasty silver coinage. |
